The Arms that Hold the Universe...

After a long weekend, there is only one post that I find appropriate tonight. It has nothing to do with football, fun, or the oreo pie I made with my incredible family. Instead, I have been shown over and over again all weekend that life is hard. I haven't seen this through my life right now, but through other people's. After hearing an sermon about faith and strength and then discussing it tonight at Bible study, I decided to write this. Life is extremely difficult. There are so many things that can be thrown at you to make you doubt and think, "Why even try?" But I know and still learn everyday that God is there every step of the way. Thankfully I'm learning what trust truly is, and as Preacher Chris said this morning, it's okay to say "I don't see how it will get better, but Lord, I trust you, and I know it will." There are a lot of situations that I am praying for right now, and I know that whoever is reading this probably feels the same way. I know that "with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26), and I know that if these people rely on and trust in God that everything will be okay. On my way home tonight I heard this song, and the timing could not have been better...

I know it seems Like this could be The darkest day you've known
But believe you me The God of strength Will never let you go
He will overcome, I know
And the arms that hold the universe Are holding you tonight
You can rest inside It's gonna be alright
And the voice that calmed the raging sea Is calling you His child
So be still and know He's in control He will never let you go

Through many dangers, toils and snares You have already come
His grace has brought you safe this far
(And) His grace will lead you home

And the arms that hold the universe Are holding you tonight
You can rest inside
And the voice that calmed the raging sea Is calling you His child
So be still and know He's in control
He will never let you go

You can hope, you can rise, you can stand
He has still got the whole world in His hands
You can hope, you can rise, you can stand
He's still got the whole world, the whole world in His hands

And the arms that hold the universe Are holding you tonight
You can rest inside It's gonna be alright
And the voice that calmed the raging sea Is calling you His child
So be still and know He's in control
He will never let you go
He will never let you go
(He's) Still got the whole world in His hands in His hands,
yeah Still got the whole world in His hands
It's gonna be alright
